BEST BYOB IN LONDON

It might not sound glamorous, but your purse will love you for it. Bring your own bottle (byob) policy is one of London’s best kept secrets and here is a selection of my favourite restaurants and cafés in the capital just for you:

Ariana

This Halal Persian and Afghan cuisine restaurant is a hidden gem in East London, it is rarely full and has the best meat selection on top of byob policy.

Bonnie Gull

This seafood shack does BYOB on Sundays only with no corkage fees, so you have one more reason to love the weekend!

Hawksmore

So you can get your favourite steak with your favourite wine on Mondays only with £5 corkage fee.

Mangal 1 Ocakbasi

Not to confuse you, but there are at least five Mangal Turkish restaurants within about 200 meters proximity off Kingsland Road, in Dalston. The ‘famous’ Mangal is on 10 Arcola St, London E8 2DJ charges you £2 per corkage fee.

Little Georgia

This laid back café just off Broadway market with Eastern European menu has no corkage fees. However the sister one on Barnsbury Road has it’s own wine selection, and therefore doesn’t feature byob policy.

More restaurants with BYOB policies that come in pairs – useful for that back up plan or when you are feeling extra shy:

Song Que and Tay Do are both no frills Vietnamese Cafes off Kingsland road and booking is not required. Perfect for the last minute dinner date.

Elephant (Pakistani) does great Thalis that come on a traditional metal plate and Kaosarn is a small Thai restaurant with seating on the outside, both in Brixton Village are also perfect dinner spots.

Tayyabs and Lahore One (both Indian) in Whitechapel if you fancy some authentic Indian cuisine, just don’t expect great service or to get a table straight away. These places are always buzzing and not known for their service but for delicious currys and grills.
